Alternator QuestionDanijh1 01-22-2004, 07:49 AM Alright... i think the reason my sound system and my lights dim in my car when the bass hits is becuase my alternater is week. But if i want to getr a new alternater what do i need....... Amp wise?....... i heard about people getting a new alt...with 220 Amps high performace shit...but i dopnt car about money.... i think if think if i get a better alt, everything in my car will act normal..lol........ anyone now the best place "site?" to get an alt....... and what abotu the amps? how much would i need....? cyber_lord 01-29-2004, 12:18 PM I'm not sure about the amperage of the alt. However one thing you might want to invest the hundred bux in is a 1 farud capasitor. This is mounted close to any amp you have which is drawing massive ammounts of current. It stores power similar to the battery, but when the amp trys to draw a little extra when the bass hits, it comes from what is stored in the capasitor, not the battery or the alt. Most sound shopps have them for an ungodly price, but if you live near any little hole in the wall electronic stores, normally you can find one in there for about a hundred. If not, they can normaly still order one cheaper than a stereo shop. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
