all the intake mani's i am seeing are for the d16y8 but i dont have a d16y8 i have a d16y7... will i beable to use one of these intake mani's if i get an ex style throttle body? and what other parts will i need to make this work? thx so much

i believe all you need is the y8 IM and throttle body, pretty much all d-series engine parts are interchangeable.

thanks alot ...so you say i can but the y8 im and tb and bolt onto my dx head? what about an intake sys.. will i have to buy an ex one now that i have an ex placed tb?

they will bolt on to you're head without a problem. You will need to buy an intake for an EX. The IM's are styled differently. The DX intake come up and bends at a 90 I believe because the throttle body is like right behind and down by the head. The EX throttle body sits up and towards the right of the head, because the IM sit's higher than the DX one does. Goodness I don't think that makes any sense, here are pics so I can explain myself better.

Alright so the ex im and tb will bolt on fine and now i wil have to go with an ex intake cause of the tb location. i think i got it ...is that all correct? thanks so much

wait a minuit. now if i do this change from a dx tb to a ex tb setup ...the throttle will obviously change places right? so what happens to my existing throttle linkage... will i have to get a ex's throttle linkage? tha alot

ah shit i forgot about that, you will have to get the throttle cable and everything from the EX also. I'm pretty sure the DX one isn't long enough to reach
