Anybody notice a different for this mod? Change in gas mileage, power, or loudness of the car? Do you guys think it filters better than the stock paper kind, or even the drop in box K&N kind?

I'm thinking about putting it on, but need some feedback.

The word on these is yes. The seat of the pants dyno feels like you get a couple more HP. Loudness, yup a little bit louder.

I would stear away from the cone, sucking in hot engine air isn't going to help much, also, my engine gets dirty dang quick so will the cone. A drop in is a better way to go. Others have also removed the side tube on the air box to help get more air into it.

Stock paper has the best filtration.

Some folks have reported a decrease in MPG and other report an increase in MPG. The way I see it is more air in = more gas in too.

If you do buy a new filter make sure you reset the ECU (yank the fuse under the hood or disconnect the battery for 15-20 minutes. Doing this the ECU will relearn your driving habits (first 50 times your start and drive the truck) and will account for the new free flowing air filter.


I see nothing wrong with them seeing that the off theshelf filter (paper) cost +20 bucks!

I ordered some from stcharlesauto.com I thought I was ordering one for 18 bucks shipped but I ended up getting 3 (OEM Isuzu air filters).
