Power door lock problem

Hello, the power door locks on my '99 Ranger do not work. It started out that the passenger door would not lock/unlock with the remote keyless or power lock/unlock button on the door. It seemed to almost work the first try, but seemed to have less and less movement every try after the first until the lock stem on the door barely wiggled when I hit the button. Now both the driver side and passenger doors do the same thing. It seems that the first try tp lock/unlock gets the most movement and then less and less until it does not move at all.
Any help would be appreciated. Is there a trick or special tool needed to remove the inner door panels?
It acts to me like the power door actuator inside the door is either loose or needs to be replaced, but the fact that both doors have the same problem has me puzzled. The fact that they move more the first try and then less and less is what leads me to this assumption.
Kind Regards,,,LAkers...

It might be the regulators. I replaced them in my 1988 Bronco II, and they were on the drivers side, under the hood, and right behind the headlight. I got a wiring diagram to find that out.
good luck, and post back when you find the answer

My 99 ranger has the same problem with the power door locks. I wandered about the regulator, but haven't tried changing it yet.
