Disabling the Keychain panic feature

Does anyone know how to disable the panic feature on the keychain remote. I like being able to unlock/lock the doors remotely but when I put the keys in my pocket, somehow the key pushes the panic button and the alarm sounds and wakes all of my neighbors. Is there way of disabling the panic but still keep the remote lock/unlock?

Yes, I did it last winter. I too got tired of sitting down or walking away from the car with my keys in my pocket and my arms full of stuff and then have the stupid horn start to blow!!! It's amazing isn't it that you have to press 4 or 5 or 6 times to get the blasted doors unlocked but all you have to do to get that alarm going is cross your legs while your sitting down or just touch that alarm button. I think there should be a class action suite for crying wolf!

Ok, I just took some masking tape, took the little box apart and where the button would make or fuse the contacts I put the masking tape. Worked perfectly until I locked the car with the windows rolled down at church one morning and inbetween services went out to my car and instead of unlocking it with my key thing I just went in and opened the door instead! Don't do that!

So, my question is - to resolve this does anyone know how to shut the panic sound off without the keything?

Thanks,

Joe
