he was driving an ss chevelle i believe, and the charger was a 69 charger and a 70 charger mixed together, the engine was a hemi too, with a 6 or 8-71 blower

In answer to your question, he was driving the Charger when he raced Spilner across the railroad track and into the semi.

Sorry Firechicken, I had a hard time trying to decipher whether you were talking about the a Chevelle or a Charger in that race, so I tried to clear it up a little.

I'd have answered 69.

428 Firechicken answered that it was a mix of 69 and 70, meaning there were conflicting parts on the different movie cars shown...

Vin Diesel was driving a 1969 Charger at the End of the movie against Paul Walker's Supra. I beleive the blue Muscle car in 2 Fast 2 Furious was a Camero.

The blue Camaro was a Yenko replica

If they'd have wrecked a real Yenko, I'd have killed someone...

Yea, most of the cars in movies like that are replicas, just like "elenor" in gone in 60 seconds wasn't a real shebly mustang. I was only telling him what the car they were "supposed to be" driving was called. Then of course, there are usually several stripped versions of each car that only look the same on the outer shell. These are the one's normally wrecked, etc. I agree, if they wrecked the real cars, that'd be gut wrenching.

Actaully there was a true GT500 in Gone in 60 seconds. There was like 3 or 4 replicas though when they did the stunt driving. But just when it was sitting there that was a real one.
You can tell because if you look close at the hood scoop, the real one had a functioning scoop with a hole in it, the replica had just a bump in the hood. Well it was the same scoop just no holes for the ram air.

Hmm, I'll have to go check that out then, I never noticed that before. I was under the imperssion that they were all replicas. So is it that way in the other gone is 60 seconds as well....elenor that sits there was real, then replica stunt ones?

I know you said you were kidding, but were you refering to Gone in 60 seconds or The Fast in the Furious? I personally like muscle cars. As far as movie ones go, I especially like Elenor in Gone in 60 second. When they crush her though, it's just sad...even if it is a replica they crushed.

I swear it was a 68 with a 69 front piece. It has 2 circle lights on the back if you care to look next time.
So stupid how it does a burnout whilst doing a wheel stand.

One word, Hollywood. It's just like Clint Eastwood firing a .44 Magnum with one hand bent around a corner.

That was a 70 charger in F&F. The 70's have chrome all around the front grille.

Thats up in the air-the front end looked modified, almost like a 70. But the taillights show 69 if I'm not mistaken.

I don't remember the rear lights of the F&F charger, but I can tell it was not a 69. The 69 has a big bar in the middle of the grill, like in the Dukes of Hazard. The taillights on 69 and 70 are similar, but on the 70's the two taillight pockets touch in the middle.

BTW the Charger in Blade was a 68. It had round taillights and a blank grill.

Yeah it's a 68, I checked it out. But the front end looks modified, like extra lights and strange looking louvers in the grille, it's weird. But the taillights show 68.

The Charger in F&F IS a '70 Hemi with a blower (the car at the end is a fake, as the blower is bolted to the hood???)

The Charger in Blade is a '68 with a 6-pak hood, most commonly found on Hemi Darts and Super Bee's

The Challenger in 2F2F is a '70 Hemi-clone. Although it did have an actual 426 Hemi in it for the movie, it wasn't a factory R/T car. You will notice that R/T cars have the badging on the front fenders, as well as the grill and deck. The movie car has the grill emblem, but not the fenders. The owner was approached by the Car Wrangler for the movie, and was told "I have good news, and bad news. You're car will be famous, but you won't own it anymore" and bought it on the spot.

The Yenko was the same. a 'clone' bought from a guy at a cruise night.

the car at the end of the fast and the furious was a 70 charger hemi car. the general lee from the dukes of hazzard was a 69 charger. the 69 and 70 charger have the same tail lights and marker lights. the differences are the front bumper raps around the grille on the 70 like in the movie the 69 i just under the grille. and because the bumper raps around the fenders and the hood are cut differently. the 70 has an open grille the 69 has a split in the middle like the general lee. also th interior is almost the same. the only difference is the buket seats. the 69 seat were short with an adjustable head rest. the 70 had a taller seat cause the head rest was molded in to th seat. if you wnat me to tell you the differences between the 68, 69 just let me know. i will be glad. hope i helped clear up the confusion. since they were only right about the model.
