1994 Mercedes C200 Elegance...
This is my next project... A lovely dark blue metallic german gem. Currently there is a bit of small jobs to do on her during the winter. Mostly electrical like back right power window, indicator rel่, el. sunroof.

Any other people had problems like this? The problem is that the problem is there and then it's not... It's shifting... So when i put it in to a garage and they do an error-check they get up that there is no errors...

Cosmetic and gadget plans for the car:
- New C-class mirrors with indicators
- New grill ("Avantgarde" ?)
- Paint care on left front side infront of the wheel
- New C-class sports black leather seats
- New C-class black leather door sides
- New rims (of course)
- Standard Mercedes Espirit spoiler for the boot/trunk
- New wood-interior plank to go around the gear shifter... (It has a crack)
- DEFA Warm-up (Airconditioning that can be adjusted to start at e.g. 6AM... I live in Norway! It's cold sometimes :D )
- Convert to new C-class remotely controlled power locking...
- Exchange the current speakers with some new ones that are discreet.
- New C-class steering wheel

Performance plans for the car:
- New airfilter (of course)
- Chip it
- New twin 2" stainless steel exhaust system with 2,5" endpipe

I hope to get about 170hp after these mods... It is 136hp stock...

People... Please come with comments and tips for my project... The more ideas the better... Pictures are to come...

My broken mirror... The damn newspaper delivery car backed into it one night whilst delivering me my newspaper...

I will not get a new one from neither the newspaper, the logistics handling company or the delivery company (!!) since i can't prove it was the guy that did it... EVen though i couldnt sleep that night and i was sitting by my computer and looking out to the driveway...

Gonna cost me too much money that i could have used for other goodies... Here are the reasons it's gonna cost much:

1. It's Mercedes
2. It's Heated
3. It's El. adjustable
4. It has a 2-zone mirror
5. It's painted in the color of the car

Cool Harness looks like a nice add on option.
It cools your engine down, a lot.
Here's the web page for more info:

I would like to learn how to drift, could you please email me and teach me a few stuff? I would really like to go out and have fun. My email's magnificent1986@hotmail.com. Thanks.

i think that you should try out the www.drifiting.com forum... they know ALL there is to know about drifting... But i have to warn you, Mercedes isnt the best drifter there is...

Try getting an old Volvo 240 and use that for drifting, since that might be the cheapest drifter in comparicing to the other good drifting cars such as Nissan 200SX and Toyota AE86 and Nissan Skyline...

Thanks. I'll check that out. Did you learned how to drift there?

Why does Mercedes considered a not-so-good drifter? Is it the excess weight on it?

My friend drives a Volvo, but not so sure which model is it though. A AE86 isn't expensive, it's just ver VERY VERY (note: very) rare. lol... Skyline's way off for me, I would rather get a 500bhp Supra or a CLK.

I noticed that SUVs are more easy to drift...
I almost skidded of the road today in my Pajero.
Phew...

I learned to drift on my own... But that was on snow mostly... (I live in Norway :D ) But when i got my drivers licence, i learned drifting on normal roads by that forum and by people in the racing clubs in my area...

Mercedes is considered a not-so-good drifter because most Mercedes are built for cruising in comfort, not sport out. They do weigh alot too, but nothing a couple of hp can't fix...

Of course you can drift with a Mercedes, but it's not a good drifter. It's not as easily controlled as a Volvo 240.

If he has a new Volvo, he probably has FWD, which is NOT favourable for drifting... :D

AE86 are rare, that was what i ment... ;)

The CLKs are nice... Try to get one of those supercharged/compressor feeded ones and crank the volume up on the compressor...

SUVs are easy to get to slide, not to drift... They are not easily controlled at all... :D

I think my friend drives a Volvo 940. Is that considered new?

I want to doughnut! Just like the one in your signature. Cool!

My Merc doesn't have Traction control... Which is very dangerous in slippery conditions... I got scared my butt off when my Pajero half-doughnutted in the middle of a two-way traffic road... Just by thinking of it gives me the creeps...

Volvo 940 (and 960) is concidered to be "middle generation"... It's the last of the RWD Volvos and was the heir to the 740.

9 series - 4 cylinder... The correct factory terms is 944 and 945 (4 door sedan or 5 door estate)...

You can easily go drifting or doughnutting with a 940, as long as you've tuned it a bit... 200hp+... They came with aprox. 160hp... New airfilter, new exhaust, turn up the boost on the turbo and chip it and you'll have 250+ hp...

The conditions here now is hell... I take the bus to school now as long as i dont have anything special afterwards... It hailed and snowed about 10cm and then started to melt and suddenly the weather changed to clear and about minus 10 degrees celcius... So now i actually slide on the ice that's on top of the snow on my lawn... LOL!

So I can play with it?
hehe...

the 940? sure... but a 240 is better to play with... hehe...

Rossie

Because it's lighter?

bludnik
01-26-2004, 02:45 AM
because it's easier to control...

if the rear end goes on a 240, push the clutch in and the car actually straightens itself... it was produced from 1975 to 1993 with only minor changes on it... of course, it was updated; but the recepie was the same...

Nice!
But I don't think I saw any of them here.
Nevermind, I'll keep a look out for them next time.

the ultimate old Volvo however is a 262C Bertone... A coupe special edition made by Bertone. It was on the lines of BMW 7series, Mercedes S-class and Jaguar... Luxury sedan... The swedish Lexus if you may...

Rossie
01-27-2004, 06:36 AM
Never heard of it... Does it have an updated model?

I saw a 240 today! lol... Maybe there were a lot of them, just because I didn't noticed them... lol...

bludnik
01-29-2004, 05:02 PM
The 262C Bertone? Nah... They did the 780 by Bertone, but it was NOT the same... The 262C Bertone went out of production in the early 80s...

bludnik

but for Volvo purists, the 2-series was the ultimate... and the ultimate 2-series was not the 244, 245, 242, 264 or 265... but the 262 C Bertone...
