Check Engine light

As soon as I bought my 95 T-bird, I saw the check engine light come on. I thought nothing of it, thinking it will go off, some do that for a while. Since then, the light has stayed on. Does anynoe else have this problem? The oil pressure and temperature are normal, any ideas or reasons to be worried?

Get the codes read. There's a possibility of over 200 things that could be wrong.

Autozone will read the codes for free. Ford will charge you $120.

You know, my 94 does the exact same thing. The light just comes on even though everything is fine. I've had Ford look at it along with several other mechanics, they all said everything seems to be fine and can't find a thing wrong with it. Eventually I just disconnected the battery cables to remove the light and it didn't come back for like 8 months. Ford mechs tell me that since it was the first 2 years of the 4.6L, 94-95 blocks are quirky compared to the refined 96+ and ours are chipped, not CPU'd. So, just keep at it, buy a chilton manual and take it everywhere you can until you're satisfied with the answer.

I have a 3.8 L T-Bird V6 and it does the same. I had the code read. Mch told me they come from "both sides". Car moves fine except that , on a cold night if you put it in D from P , it will just "puddle around".. kind of idle ..then "pick up" suddenly and then go.
Is this part of the same prob....? what seems wrong...
