Hello all,
I want to install an alarm with automatic starter to warm up car on cold days like now in NY.
2 installers wont do the job because of the chip key. They say it is giving a false code to the computer and could cause it to fail.

Any truth to this and will it void my warranty?

Thanks,
Dave-

Run, do not walk away from those jokers. Please find a GOOD alarm shop to visit and ask them. There are proper ways to install these with no problems. I do it all the time. My advice is to find an authorise Directed Electronics Dealer. They will have plaques showing they are such. www.directed.com

I had a Viper 550 put in my Ody, I have had no problems like false alarms, etc. Because of the chip in the key, they had to use an optional part that they have to put a key in so everything works. One word of caution, use a reputable installer that is certified to install whatever brand you choose, ask questions and keep your receipt to avoid having Honda deny any warranty claims. Directed Electronics makes most of the alarm systems out there like Viper, etc.

Ive installed a Viper 791vx with the 555u for bypass. No probs here. The electric sliders are a pain to hook up to the aftermarket remote but a very competent read: MECP First Class Installer should be able to do this for you.

Yeah they are full of you know what...all it will do is not allow the car to start...I just finished getting my remote start installed and because of my bypass module I was using it just caused it to keep cranking the starter.
By the way if you are interested in a bypass module I got a DEI 555H module for sale.
