Aurora running hot

My 95 aurora seems to run hot sometimes, not all the time. Usually after I have been driving it a good while and I shut it off (at the store) and restart again ater a short period off shut off time. Any suggestions? Also 95% of the time I have a starting problem with the car. It always starts just takes 2-4 seconds before it actually ignites.

These cars run warmer than usual and eratic readings are common. Until it starts blowing out through the 15PSI cap, you're fine. Mine always ran at 220 until a new thermostat installed, now 190.

Thanks. Should I replace my T-Stat as well? Did you install it yourself? Is it easy? How much time/money did it cost?

$14.99 at NAPA, good quality and comes with a new seal. It's easy, but you have to drain the coolant. It's in the black metal piece that is bolted to the water pump(two bolts)and the lower rad hose. Be careful when seating the new one because the back of the therm(where the spring is) must rest in the center of the water pump cavity and then be EVENLY tightened down with the black housing to seal correctly. In otherwords, when you insert the new one, the o-ring seal will not set flush into the groove, you must push it in with the housing. This will crush it into the groove and form the seal. Takes 10 minutes.
