1994 GMC Sierra Motor Lugs at low RPM's

I am having trouble with my 1994 GMC Sierra. It has a 5.0L engine and hesitates(engine seems to jerk) during very slow acceleration at low RPM's(1500-2200RPM). It also seems to want to stall(although it doesn't) when I come up to intersections and let off the gas. I have changed plugs, wires, cap and rotor, knock sensor, and verified the correct timing. None of this has had any affect on hesitation. The engine also idles very low(400-500RPM). Any ideas or help would be greatly appreciated.

Yeah, I have the same problem with my GMC 1996 Sierra. I have a 4.3 liter though. When you punch the gas it is fine but if you accelerate slowly then it jerks a bit. Let me know what you find out.

Its good to hear that I am not the only one with this problem.

I have talked with some mechanics and all they can tell me is to get a tune-up. Already done that so then tell me to clean out my intake. Have not done that and it is pretty dirty but I can't imagine that being the problem.

As far as the rpm idle I think that is normal for GMC trucks that age. Mine is right around 500 also but it has been that way since it was new.

To clean inside intake...GM makes a fuel injector cleaner...a strong one for about $21. a bottle...
It is advised to run one through each year...therefore cleaning injectors...
How is your gas milage?

I just ran into a lot of similiar issues, including blowing black smoke. For $7 you can change the Coolant Temp Sensor on the front left of the intake. Screws in and out in less and 2 minutes. Basically, mine had gone bad. Sensor was telling my computer that it was -40 degrees (lowest it reads) all the time. Ran fine at higher RPM's because it was able to handle the amount of gas it was getting...but at lower RPM,s the computer, thinking the motor was cold, was pumping fuel down its throat.

I spent nearly $200 changing all the same shit as you did, including the o2 sensor...and it was nothing more than this little $7 sensor...give it a try and let me know what you find out!

it is probly your rev limiter, my 94 did the same thing, i put a chip in it and problem was gone

Have you tried plugging the vacuum line to the EGR valve? A low speed hesitation can be caused by a BAD EGR valve.
