New Member...'95 Questions...

I have two questions I'm hopeful someone might help with:

1. Twighlight Sentinel - It seem to take a bit more "dark" to complete the circuit and "fire up" the headlights. Time for a new sensor module or something else?

2. The Eclipse ESD-430 CD 12 Disc Changer didn't come with a magazine and I can't get any responses from Eclipse. Any suggestions on where to get a magazine?

The only problem I'm experiencing with the car is the SES comes on when putting car into Reverse or Drive...intermittanly. I'm headed out now to clean / re-gap the plugs and check the wires. I don't have a scanner (ODB I) so I'm not ever sure what the code is. The car does act like it's running on 4 cylinders when the light comes on so I suspect it's an ignition problem.

Thanks in advance for any and all assistance!

Look for carbon scoring around the wires as well. They tend to arc while under load, but act fine while you are looking at them of course.

If it has been a while since they were changed I think the stock answer to a whole myriad of troubles has been change the plugs and wires with Delco parts. Aftermarket stuff seems to cause more trouble than they are worth.

I haven't had any trouble or read anything too insightful as to the twilight sentinel. One guy had his sensor fall down into the dash which made his lights stay on all the time, but not too helpful in your case. Sorry.

Yup...that was me that had the sensor fall down inside the dash. I retrieved it and now it just seems to be a bit TOO dark when the lights finally come one. I'll probably spring for a new sensor just to see if that helps.

The SES "problem" still haunts me, though not quite as bad since I cleaned / re-gapped the plugs. Seems to happen on cold mornings just as I put the car into reverse coming out of the driveway. Car acts just like it's running on 4 cylinders instead of 8?!?

Also, I'm still in the market for that CD magazine....any help would be appreciated!.

Thanks,
Dave

If the light were coming on and you didn't feel anything, then that's one thing. But shaking hard like it's on 4 holes is definitely an ignition/spark or fuel pressure/delivery problem.

Wow Rhinoman, I killed a good 2 hours looking for any hint of a page detailing that eclipse changer itself much less the magazine for it.

Since you may have noticed it is Eclipse by Fujitsu Ten, it is entirely possible that the current name brand has virtually nothing to do with whoever made your changer.

My only advice is hie thee to a good car stereo shop and see if they can order it. The only other thing I can think of is call junkyards. This thing is pretty old- the only refences to changers with that numbering system were from '93-'95 or so. It is possible that no one thought it valuable enough to tear out when ditching a car (doubtful, but maybe the changer didn't work or something).

Good luck.
