A 19 Year Old Can Afford A New Car Too!k8isgr8 01-14-2004, 10:57 AM So last summer, my friend and I, (both of us 19 year old girls), walk in to Otto's BMW & MINI in West Chester, PA because I really, really wanted a new Mini Cooper S. Well, we go in the showroom, pick up a brochure and STAND THERE for like, 10 minutes! Salesmen walked right by us without even acknowledging our presence!!! It was SO FREAKING RUDE! How did they know I didn't have $7k for a down payment? (which I did)! I was SOOO pissed I just walked out. I didn't end up getting a mini, and now I'm glad I didn't. I'd rather save my money.....maybe I'll buy out Otto's BMW & MINI! hahahahah! :evillol: CamaroSSBoy346 01-14-2004, 05:23 PM Um. Well, personally, i dislike it when salesmen come up to me when im just looking; so maybe they kept that in mind. Secondly, if you really wanted their "help" you should have asked. Its not their fault that you didnt ask them for help. k8isgr8 01-15-2004, 10:47 AM Um. Its not their fault that you didnt ask them for help. "Personally", I would've appreciated at least a "hello" from someone. They didn't have a reception desk to walk up to ask for help or I would have done so. "Secondly", it's a salesperson's JOB to GREET the customers. But thanks for your opinion anyway! Jamaal 01-15-2004, 06:34 PM put that 7g's in your savings you'll need it you gotta crawl b4 you can walk, thx. let alone walk b4 you can run CamaroSSBoy346 01-15-2004, 07:41 PM You dont really need a receptions desk to get someones attention... BP2K2Max 01-17-2004, 05:46 PM you must not look of age. i'm only 20 and i was looking for a 2k2 maxima like 6 months ago and the nissan salesman was at my side as soon as he saw me looking around the lot. it's probably cuz it was a bimmer place and people our age aren't gonna buy a $50K BMW. how much is a new mini anyway? CamaroSSBoy346 01-18-2004, 12:14 AM 20K for the base ed. 25K for the S and 30K+ For the factory tuned up version Strider Negro 01-18-2004, 05:42 PM what he did wasn't rude at all in my opinion if you talked to the salesman and he ignored you THAN it was rude but I see nothing wrong with what he did. BMW_4.4i 01-19-2004, 06:07 PM yeah, that is why people go to the lot after dark and look around, so the salespeople DON'T bother you. I have to agree with Strider and CamaroSS on this one. BP2K2Max 02-03-2004, 01:20 PM yeah, that is why people go to the lot after dark and look around, so the salespeople DON'T bother you. I have to agree with Strider and CamaroSS on this one. no, i did that once at the local ford place, and when i left i got tailed by a cop, pulled over and searched cuz he said there had been reports of people breaking into the cars and stealing the radio's. Strider Negro 02-03-2004, 03:07 PM he searched your car or you?? the cops can't search your car unless they have some sort of permission or reasonable cause, even than it's violating your rights. MioCLK 02-03-2004, 07:55 PM The cop can search your car with a probable cause. Our Constitution only protects us from "unreasonable" searches. Like in BP2K2MAX's situation, the cop did give him a reason. But if he thinks thats all BS, the smart thing to do is to let the cop search the car, then get the cop's badge number, record the date / time and place, then talk to a judge in court (don't argue with cops, it'll only make things worse). Only the judge has the final say on whether a person is violating the law or not. BMW_4.4i 02-03-2004, 08:01 PM I never heard of anything like that ever happening. I suppose that MioCLK is right, that he can search your car with a probable cause. And if a dealer has a problem like that then they show close the lot of with a fence and/or use more survelence. Many of the local car dealerships here (New England) are closed off in fence with barbed wire at the top. I think the Bimmer place even has a guard in an elevated booth after hours. -Davo 03-07-2004, 05:59 AM it's the classic scene where you're either bombarded by salesmen asking you questions when you're just looking, but never get attention when you want to buy something. dunno if anyone said it yet, ij ust read first post.... BP2K2Max 03-07-2004, 12:32 PM he searched your car or you?? the cops can't search your car unless they have some sort of permission or reasonable cause, even than it's violating your rights. i didn't realize there had been responses to this post, af only sends me notification letters when it feels like it. anyway the flopper searched my car and only patted down my pockets for "his own protection". he let me go unpenalized though, which is rare cuz they usually give you some kind of ticket to justify pulling you over. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
