Nissan Skyline HR-31Sparkie_2000 04-19-2001, 09:49 AM I have recently aquired a Nissan Skyline as Raced by Mark Skaife in Australia . I am thinking of setting up the exterior with the race colours ect. I was wondering if anyone could point me in the direction of someone who I could obtain permission to do so. SkylineUSA 04-19-2001, 05:03 PM Do you really need permission, to paint your car? It's not like they have a copywrite or patent on a paint scheme, do they? R33 04-23-2001, 03:49 AM Welcome Sparkie. Sounds like a nice car you bought there:D BTW, is it a raced prepared car? If so, what's the specs and mods? Would love to know. So am I right in thinking that its NOT a car that has been raced by skaife, but its the same model that skaife raced? Dont forget Jim Richards raced em too, and Jims better. (dont argue) Whats the engine config etc? Doesnt it come standard with turbo? I gotta do me some research Sparkie_2000 05-08-2001, 10:59 AM Slip, Yeah I agree there that Jim was better cant forget that George Fury raced for the too now can we. I was sure it had a turbo to but this one doen't So I'm guessing it may very well be another motor in it entirely:bandit: 200sx 05-09-2001, 09:06 PM Can you guys post some pictures , I am curious about the 31 , BBD 05-09-2001, 09:47 PM Sparkie_2000.. get a can of paint take it to a body shop and say paint my car NOW lol Sparkie_2000 05-11-2001, 11:23 AM Hey Guys I would post the pics if I had some so if anyone has any of the HR-31 , It may help these guys that are interested in it:bandit: dohc 05-28-2001, 01:57 AM Hey guys,I'm from Australia.I've got an R31 Pintara(looks the same as a Skyline, but 4 cyl) Looks like a cool site you got here.Anyone who wants a look at an R31 can goto my site, http://garage01.freeservers.com Cheers igor@af 06-07-2001, 12:25 PM Nice car dohc! and welcome to AF, hope you like it here. When I lived in Japan several years ago, my dad had an HR31 as well. It was Nissan Skyline GT Touring-version. It had a good turbo, which gave it a LOT of power even though it was only 2.0 liters. Ours was not as sharp in angles, which was a little younger version of HR31 than yours. What year is yours? igor@af 06-07-2001, 12:27 PM Our car looked like this but without the front and rear spoilers, plus it was a sedan not a coupe: http://www03.u-page.so-net.ne.jp/kc4/toruo/car/skyline_gts/sl-1-w512.jpg R35 06-07-2001, 01:08 PM I got an off the wall question for anyone who lived in Japan back in the early 80's late 70's. There was a police TV drama in Japan that was sort of based around the Skyline (really). Sort of like CHiPs in a way. These cops were in charge of cracking down on high speed racing, robberies, chase's, etc. The Skylines in the show had the passanger side removed and replaced by a giant computer system (laptop if you will:flipa: ) and the cars themselves were heavily modified to keep up with the bad guys. For the love of GOD I can't remember the name of the show, but I recall in the opening scene they had a Skyline jumping across a bridge with explosions behind it and the title of the show appears right below the car in giant letters. I'm sure the HR31's were a part of the show too?! Anyone else recall it:confused: dohc 06-08-2001, 06:27 AM Thanks igor@af.My car is a 1987 model, but as far as I am aware, all R31's had the same body...R30's look very similar, (especially the 'iron mask' ones) but not as 'sharp' in the body. Cheers dohc igor@af 06-08-2001, 10:06 AM I got the pic scanned: dohc 06-09-2001, 03:06 AM Cool man.Looks like an R31 Passage GT. Nice car! Body is similar to my Aussie R31,but I believe the roof line is a bit lower, and of course pillarless. Cheers vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
