I have an '87 GL Wagon with a 1.8L SOHC EA-82 engine. I would like to rebuild the oil pump, and have all the necessary seals, etc. I attempted to remove the oil pump, but so far was not successful. As far as I can tell there are four bolts that attach the pump to the engine, and I removed them, but the pump won't budge. I'm afraid to force and pry any further, whereby I might break the aluminum housing. Has anyone had experience in removing an oil pump in this model? In addition, does the timing belt ride on a sprocket attached to the oil pump?

I would appreciate any guidance from someone who has experience in this matter. Thanks!

Yes pass side belt does drive pump. I think there 5 bolts holding pump. seems like one is hard to see. Also watch o-ring seal on pump. If it doesn't seal properly the darn thing will suck air and cause valve lifters to click bad. Found this out the hard way.
