lights go on but engine won't start. it makes one click, lights go on but engine won't start. Sometimes it starts first thing in the morning. Other times I have to try about three times. It was 11 degrees this morning; maybe that had something to do with it and it's been cold all day. Right now can't get it to start. Tried 8 times, and just one initial clank under the hood. All electrical components besides starter function.

how many miles? sounds like starter contacts.

You have a bad starter selonid..Its not transferring power from battery to starter..I would replace the whole starter assembly just to make sure..But also check the starter relay (the little black one) too.

No it this the contacts in the starter they are about 10.00 dollars. Our relays don't go bad! there is no way I would replace the starter!

And by the way.. I have changed plenty of BAD Toyota relays....go back to the oil change pit where you belong.

I hope that u didn't replace the relays! By the way what are your ASE CERTS? Mine are Master and Toyota also. Yours mr harper?
