Difference between JDM b16 and USDM b16HondaDriver82 01-11-2004, 11:39 AM I now the major differences like compression, hp and OBD differences. And i now that the plugs on the distrubutor and injectors are different, but is there any thing different between the engines, like i'm buying a JDM b16A2 and i'm gonna use a OBD2 engine harness and OBD2 ecu, are there any connections that are on the USDM B16a2 that are not going to be on the JDM b16a2??? Smokn91HB 01-13-2004, 08:19 PM im not fully sure... but i believe that the b16a has 160 USDM and 170 JDM (from what i hear) it must be in the compression or in the head jcrx 01-13-2004, 09:05 PM It has nothing to do with the motor being from Japan, other than the 92-95 B16A (170ps) running a higher compression, there is no difference between the USDM B16A's and the JDM. The differences in plugs are from the OBD differences, not regional. tomsindahizouse 10-17-2004, 07:01 PM what is the difference that makes the jdm b16a 170 HP as opposed to the usdm b16a 160 HP? sorry....i know this is an old thread. DBISIS 10-17-2004, 07:38 PM It has nothing to do with the motor being from Japan, other than the 92-95 B16A (170ps) running a higher compression, there is no difference between the USDM B16A's and the JDM. I know nothing about compression. DBISIS 10-17-2004, 10:55 PM okay, the difference in the motors internally i beleive is the piston design. The jdm has a higher dome. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
