My wife has 03 Accord EX V6.I have noticed this sound in the exhaust several times and she has heard it before.I very seldon drive it but one day when we pulled into garage she said what is that sound.You hear it in the exhaust.Sorta makes the sound a burnt valve would do but it is not that.We have only heard it after driving on the highway so far.Took it back to dealer and they can not find nothing,have not had any doing this.First time we heard it-shut engine off and restarted and it was gone.Just as smooth sound in exhaust as can be.Car does not miss,does not effect mpg or performance.Has around under 10000 on it.Dealer said to bring it back and leave it a few days and see what happens.With the exhaust on these its hard to tell which side of the engine it is on if its from the engine at all.I don't know if these have any kind of air pumps on them or what.Have not really looked it over that much.Then I have heard it before and you really have to get down by the exhaust to hear it.But the first time it did it you could hear it when you got out of the car.

Well its still doing it so we take it back to the dealer Monday and will leave it there for a few days. Wife noticed it when she came home thrusday. Seem like its doing it more so maybe they can get it to do it. Last time I took it there they said it was normal. I don't think they knew what I was talking about. I even explained it to the service manager.

Took it back to the dealer tuesday.They had a factory rep there working on some car so they said they would get him on this.Had message from them yesterday they have not been able to reproduce the noise.Wife got there before me on monday and she had already shut engine off.I restarted it when I got there but it would not make the sound in the exhaust.Somebody out there is bound to have had this sound in the exhaust before.I guess I am going to have to record it the next time I hear it and play it back for them so they will see something is making the sound in the exhaust. :banghead:

Picked it up yesterday they could not get it to make noise in exhaust.As of now they don't know so I am going to buy me one of those mini recorders and record the sound when it does it again so they don't think I am nuts. :biggrin: When we got home wife put car in garage and I listen to exhaust and it was doing it.
