Can anyone help with this. The wife drove home and when she put it in park it started rolling backward very slowly. ER brake works.

i don't know it the same recall was in the 95's but in my '96, jeep had a recall with the shifter appearing to be in park, but actually in the reverse gear. is it just coasting backwards or is the motor slowly idling it??? This is just a guess, you may want to get it into the local dealership and have them check it out??

Is the jeep just rolling back on like a hill or is it actually going into reverse? If its just rolling back then its the locking mechanism in the tranny, i'll get back to ya on how to fix it, or you can go to the dealer and buy a factory service manual (great envestment)

Greg95zj, I hope you can get back with me. I have the car in the shop, not dealer, and they haven't started working on it but they don't have an Idea yet what the problem could be.
