the New Eclipse...wut do you guys think...they say its 3.8L V6 engine producing a "good" 270 hp. i think that was lame, 3.8 V6 producing 270 is alot, but its a 3.8 liter engine?!! well...more suggestions from u guys, peace

The back almost looks like a 350z. Car and driver magazine has an article on it and it says something like "why this wont be the next generation eclipse" or something like that. I lost the magazine so i cant quote it exactly. Still nice though

Could that look any more like a z? and how impracticle is that interior? That car is gonna cost an arm and a leg and do nothing but disappoint eclipse lovers everywhere! Personally, I hate it... no matter what engine is in it. But then again... thats only my opinion

likes like a 350z on drugs or something...not worthy of being the new eclipse [better then the current third gens though]. these futuristic cars never make it to production most of the time. this eclipse is more suited to be like the 7th gen or something.

hhhmmm 2 engines... wonderful! So now twice as much shit can go wrong!! plus it's an electric engine.... and it has 20 inch rims on it. I don't know about anyone else.. but it sounds to me like it's just gonna be another one of those luxury sports cars that have an insane amount of power, and it's never used because only old folks and rich people with no balls will drive them

470 horse power, can you imagine the torque steer on that mutha? i'd rather see a more mildly tuned evo engine in there, maybe around 230hp, with awd, and something not so expensive looking

Yea, They definately aren't being very realistic with this vehicle. But hopefully all it ends up being is a concept. If it's getting this kind of reaction already, mitsubishi would have to be intelligent enough not to put that thing into production

it looks like a 350z ass-holed a audi tt. voila a newer shittier 4G eclipse. i personally feel after they quit producing the 2G, they shoud have discontinued the eclipse. because what the DSM's established as a performance vehicle the 3rd and soon to be 4G are deffinetly ruining. my :2cents:

I like it 10 times more than a 3g, but the front still looks like one. They are taking it in the right direction: away from 3g.

Just because the slant of the roof is similar to a 350Z doesn't make it look like one at all. It looks no more like a 350Z than an TT or RSX does.

Torque steer? Read the article, there is 270hp up front, not 470.

I don't like it overall, but i would take that over a 3g every day of the week.

yea i am sure about everbody here know that the chance of a concept vehicle making it to production( even remotely close to what the original concept was) is slim to none. but regardless they introduce concepts to get people talking about future models of the car. and i would'nt put it past them to throw 20" rims on a 4G. look what they did to the eclipse with the 3G.

I saw the car in person today at the detroit auto show and i wanted to piss on the dam car. The car should be blown up into pieces. The "plasma" taillights or whatever they are, are just plain gay. The glass roof should have a rock dropped on it.

And i heard that they are going to drop the whole hybrid shit, and make it only gas powered, it will have 270 hp and a $23,000 base price.

i agree with most of ya'll, the third gen is hella ugly and i'd take this 4g any time over it.
the 2nd gen IS badass and this one is only front wheel drive, or its a awd hybrid crap like that. but i think it looks sexy, however expensively sexy. the cost alone cancels out the sexy but it is fun to look at. it looks like they're trying to bring hints of the second gen back with the whole b-pillar thing, but yeah. i wouldn't mind driving it around. the interior looks kinda...out there but yeah, beats my car.

Damn, you guys are some harsh criticizers! Hahaha...I don't think it's the hottest car ever, but it's pretty interesting nonetheless. The interior looks very sweet, and it's intriquing the Mitsubishi is even playing with AWD and almost 500HP. Yeah, I know it's a concept...but it's still fun! The designers say as far as the exterior is concerned, the production model should share approx. 80% of the concept body.

yea i went to the same one in chicago and it was pretty sweet....you have to see the car in person to like it....the only thing i dont like about it is the boddy looks like a fucking fat ass......and the hybrid engine means twice as much shit can go wrong with the car......i went to the auto show the day before the last day of the show....

I forget which day I went. But I know what you're saying, it's like they pushed the rest of the care too much forward. You can't win them all..and it still looks pretty slick from certain angles.

I dont really like it, its like a bunch of cars fused together. It has the front of the 3g and the back of a 350z and a TT. Dont know what mitsubishi's thinkin but they need to fix that shit up. Performance wise it seems alright (except for the hybrid engine), but the body looks gay (especially the lights).

The body isnt all that bad...it just needs to be skinnier....and the dual exhaust on the side is pretty bad ass.....it might be the colkor that makes it look fat

oh well no doubt about the 2nd G especially from 97-99.....but they are dicontinuing the electric motor for sure.....so if they do that the enging will only produce under 300 HP which is pretty weak considering it weighs a ton and is a V6

yea i was at mitsu last month and talked to a new car sales man...he had the pic of the concept on his computer and sat there and told me it was going to have a v8 twin turbo haha what a crack head guess mitsu is tryin to pass up the lambo...whateva ill believe it when i see it, hopefully they bring back sum 2g style, so sexy.
