I am new to this great forum and have just purchased, from a California GM dealer, a new 2003 Suburban. I 'bought' the GM Protection Plus Warranty (84 month or 84,000 miles) for.....$4,200!! I have 30 days to cancel. Can someone tell me what the dealer pays for this warranty? (In other words, I can still negotiate, what room do I have?). Anybody happy with non-dealer warranties (ie Warranty Direct, etc. - significantly less cost - is the coverage comparable?)

You can cancel it, but may not get the money back until the end of the finance contract. sounds like a very high price, you will be able to purchase it from any GM dealer until the factory 3yr / 36k warranty expires. shop other dealers, let them know what your doing and compare prices. some dealers may offer programs from 3rd party insurance companies, that other dealers may not honor as readily.

That seems an excessive price for an extended warrenty like that. I paid 1K for a 7 year 70K mile warrenty on the Spyder (and that car stickered for over 64K)
