I am still searching for an answer. siaelec.com 01-14-2004, 12:30 PM Only 3 things will make your ABS light come on and stay on. The hydraulic unit, electronic brake control module, or the wheel speed sensors. Sounds like they screwed with the speed sensors. Rule out hydraulic unit if no hard pedel. john2004 01-16-2004, 12:55 AM siaelec.com ((Rule out hydraulic unit if no hard pedel.)) Thank you ... but how to do so ? How to rule out the hydraulic unit ? where is it located aand how to do it? krazibimmer 01-16-2004, 01:18 AM if the light only comes on when the vehicle move, you probably have bad wheel speed sensor(s) or the metal ring the sensor picking up the signal broke or have miss teeth. prietopr 08-27-2004, 06:02 PM Where are those speed sensors exactly located an how easy is to replace them ? Thanks a lot. hundahunta 08-28-2004, 11:15 PM on the diff housing! Caribbean ZJ 08-30-2004, 08:47 AM i think there in the drums. ByronP 08-30-2004, 11:16 PM Actually since you had the CV boots replaced I would guess they would be the front sensors. The tone rings are located on the front axles. If you crawl under your jeep and look at your wheel from the back side you should be able to see a many toothed ring near where the CV boot attaches (towards the wheel). The problem is that you probably can't tell anything is wrong just by looking at it(unless there are teeth missing). You'll need to get the code that is generated by the ABS unit to diagnose the cause of the light coming on. I'm not sure but you can try Autozone. They will usually read engine codes for free but I don't know if they can get ABS codes or not. ByronP vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
