I know this is AUTOMOTIVE Forums.com . . . .but some of us ride, too. . . .
How many of you have received a ticket for doing a wheelie on motorcycle? Please leave details.

I got caught once, reckless driving & operating a motor-driven cycle on one wheel ** or something similar to that. I did it right past cop at an intersection, he didn't come after me so I thought I was good. Too bad he had been at my house prior, due to neighbor complaints(burn outs in the street @ midnight) He remembered my bike and gave me a visit @ the end of his shift. After court, ended paying $75 & 3 hours of traffic school.

All I have to say is yur lucky, in Alberta Canada that is stunting which is a $402 ticket and a 50% surcharge on your insurance. ouch!!!! Then again here for having loud exhaust, spinning tires, or having distracting lights is also considered stunting. I have a friend who got a stunting ticket for driving down the highway on a hot summer day with one of his feet hanging out the window.

A friend of mine got a ticket for careless driving for the wheelie. He was riding home from work at about 2 am on a wide but empty street. He was bored and there was no one around, so at the next red light, he lifted the tire at the green and held it up for 4 blocks until 60 mph. I have seen him do it, very impressive.
Anyways, he never noticed the cop car behind him at the light.
They were very impressed too. 6 points off and a couple of hundred bucks.

that would suck to get such a big ticket for something little like that. i have peeled out in front of a cop here (kansas city) and he didnt do anything. and there are so many cars with loud exhaust here. but anyways, i was going down the interstate once and i looked across the median and there was a bike going bout 80 and was doing a wheelie with traffic around him, i was just like, holy s**t. i dont know if he got caught or anything, but it was hella cool.

Hey Freakonaleash, I live in the KC area to. That kind of stuff will get you pulled over in the northland...especially on N Oak or in my area, which is parkville. My friend got an $80 ticket from the county for peeling out in his dad's car and the neighbors reported it. It was actually for the disturbing the peace or soemthing due to the noise.

A couple of years ago, a friend of mine got a ticket, got his bike impounded, and went to jail for doing a christ on the freeway. For those who don't know what a christ is, it's when you stand up straight on top of your gas tank and spread your arms like Jesus on a cross.

HAHA, wow. I don't ride a bike...I'd probably kill myself on it, but a year ago I was down at the street races and was watching 2 bikes races. Well the cops entered from the direction the bikes were heading. So they braked, turned around and the one guy pulled a wheelie so his license plate was facing down and unreadible and then just took off doing this wheelie for a 1/4 at what had to have been 80-100mph. It was sick!

damn...too bad that's not possible on cars. that's probably the best running-from-cops story i've heard in a long time
