Wow ok... since no one really said anything about how she said "Honda 2000"... I'm going to bash on it. The first and the last time I heard "Honda 2000" before now was in TFATF and everyone should know by now both of those movies were full of monkey shit; So all i really had to read was the first line of her story and I called :bs: Even domestic guys/gals know the S2000 as the S2000. It's not a "Honda 2000" Oh yeah, kilpatty43 :disappoin ... K20 si 01-06-2004, 08:05 PM I believed the "HONDA 2000" story because even my 02 HB Si smoked a Mustang GT by like about 2 1/2 car length in a 1/4 mile race. Now I don't know if it was the same type of GT that ya'll was argueing about at the other thread because I don't much about MUSTANG. But when I raced him, I'm sure that it was one of the new Mustang and I saw his GT label on the side and back of his car. :uhoh: Someone correct me if I got the 2 different GT confused. :uhoh: DkShadow 01-06-2004, 09:41 PM I believed the "HONDA 2000" story because even my 02 HB Si smoked a Mustang GT by like about 2 1/2 car length in a 1/4 mile race. Is that correct? I'm curious to know what it is. K20 si 01-08-2004, 02:12 AM Is that correct? I'm curious to know what it is. Yeah, I'm curious too. Are you guys serious or are you just fooling with me becuase I don't know Mustang. :banghead: Help me out guys, are there really Mustang II because the car I raced clearly said GT. I didn't see the II label. DkShadow 01-08-2004, 04:33 AM IP Trace!!! ...and g'night... Time fer bed fer m3h! BlkCamaroSS 01-08-2004, 01:10 PM Yes, that is correct. The mustang guys are just having some fun. The Mustang II of the mid-seventies was a joke, and if it had been left up to that car, the Mustang probably wouldn't have survived. I believe it looked something like this: http://members.aol.com/ianmustang/CRAMP2.JPG or this: http://members.aol.com/kgstangii/kurt3 Mendari 01-08-2004, 01:10 PM I believed the "HONDA 2000" story because even my 02 HB Si smoked a Mustang GT by like about 2 1/2 car length in a 1/4 mile race. Here's an article about a K20 Civic Si with an engine swap. It did the quarter mile in 14.5 @ 104 mph and cost $42,408. http://www.caranddriver.com/article.asp?section_id=15&article_id=6947&page_number=8 http://www.caranddriver.com/article.asp?article_id=6989§ion_id=15&page_number=10 I.M.O. I would just keep the K20 Si in full factory trim and enjoy the reliability and good gas mileage. Hey, eventually everyone has got to go grocery shopping. That seems cool, "my Civic can hold more cases of beer than your Mustang". knorwj 01-08-2004, 04:01 PM Yes, that is correct. The mustang guys are just having some fun. I believe it looked something like this: http://members.aol.com/ianmustang/CRAMP2.JPG or this: http://members.aol.com/kgstangii/kurt3 oh yeah theres the bastard son of the mustang...all it needed was some muscle really:dunno:... pictures bring back memories... i remember when i was 16 i was trying to buy a 76 cobra II for 1500 bucks, and the deal included a 77? mustang II as a parts car. when i got there I decided that both of them together weren't worth 500. neither ran, both were rusted ALOT, flat tires all around... screw that i wanted something to drive. then i found another 76 cobra for 1000 with the 351 windsor swap...damn thing was nice, but unfortunately I got screwed on the deal by some bitch.. oh well... maybe someday... Mendari 01-08-2004, 04:14 PM Ah, yeah! I would love to see a race between a Ford Mustang II and a Honda CVCC. It would be a race of speed and fuel-economy. Imagine the statistics, 17.5 @ 79 mph @ 26mpg. 76_cobra 01-13-2004, 04:20 AM "Yes, that is correct. The mustang guys are just having some fun. The Mustang II of the mid-seventies was a joke, and if it had been left up to that car, the Mustang probably wouldn't have survived. " :nono: come on now be nice.... If it wasn't for that car and Lee Iacoca the mustang wouldn't have survived, it wasn't that bad of a car the 302 was a little under powered, nothing a good intake and cam couldn't fix the factory heads weren't trrible just a small cam and 2 barrel carb. 76_cobra 01-13-2004, 04:32 AM Still the Mustang II is still way better than its successor the 79 mustang that is the ugliest mustang and the 302 had 10hp less 134 compared to 145 for the II and it was as ugly as sin so i don't know why the II got such a bad rap it at least looked like a mustang.http://www.musclecarclub.com/musclecars/ford-mustang/ford-mustang-history-3.shtml Toke138 01-13-2004, 11:53 PM Since you are female I am guessing that it was really a v6 mustang that you raced. What year mustang? Standard or automatic? A standard 4.6l 99-04 stang (stock for stock) is without question faster than an s2000, ive seen it many many times with badass drivers in both cars. It's about a 96 Mustang with an LS1 in it. If you can't beat'em, join'em. That should be #15. #15 Mustangs with LS1 swaps are the only Mustangs that can race a LS1. Strider Negro 01-16-2004, 09:14 PM and you should put a sidenote: and even than it still cannot beat it, only equal it's performance. Neutrino 01-28-2004, 08:18 AM I can't belive you guys still haven't figured out this....especially you Gtstang....you should have seen this from the begining the s2000 had clearly an LS1 swap... Toke138 01-29-2004, 06:14 PM I have been in my friends bone stock 2001 mustang gt for a good 4 or 5 street races against s2000's. The stang always pulls them HARD, no comparision. The s2000 gets a little jump off the line but after that.... 99+ stock standard mustang GT's will own any stock honda/acura short of an NSX. Thepeug 02-02-2004, 10:38 PM The s2000 gets a little jump off the line but after that.... Considering that S2000's are initially completely torqueless (153 pound-feet of torque at 7500 rpm), I doubt they get any sort of jump off the line. If anything, the S2k has an advantage in the top end, when it finally reaches max torque, max horsepower (240 horsepower at 8300 rpm) and VTEC kicks in at 6k. Spectre927 02-03-2004, 12:33 AM I have been in my friends bone stock 2001 mustang gt for a good 4 or 5 street races against s2000's. The stang always pulls them HARD, no comparision. Isnt the RSX type r suppossed to be quick? Anyways, It'll be good, but it still will come down to the driver. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
