blown motorsircivic 12-21-2001, 07:22 PM i had a 1993 civic ex that i had a header, and akimoto intake, and a full thermal r&d cat back exhaust...but i blew the motor. i have a bout $5000.00 to spend... and i want to know what to spend it on motor wise. thanks- eightysix 12-21-2001, 08:07 PM Well if I were with you I would swap a b18c1 or b16. Those motors will take care of you and are way more reliable and there aftermarket is unbelivable, that is what I would go with. j.fuggi 12-21-2001, 09:51 PM how'd you blow it? sircivic 12-22-2001, 10:59 AM i was racing my friends hooked up neon ACR, and i was shifting at 8000rpms (i had a performance chip) and the car had 127000 miles on it, and all 4 gears were tapped going into 5th, and i threw a rod bearing. man was it nasty- needless to say, one more win under the belt, but a blown motor. definately not worth it. pvang31019 12-27-2001, 02:37 AM sure.... Craig The Unholy 12-29-2001, 05:00 PM id go with a gsr engine swap;) cybercrx00 12-29-2001, 06:35 PM why not go all out on a d16 for 1500 and spend the rest on nice revhard turbo kit?? CivicEx95 01-01-2002, 08:28 PM Theres a reason why the redline on an EX is 7200, not 8K Ace$nyper 01-30-2003, 03:50 PM I would say probbly a b18c1 either way my motor has 127k and still runs strong be careful with those chips! Jaw 02-09-2003, 05:44 PM What did you do with the motor? vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
