Century courtesy lamp wiring problems

Wish you all a happy new year. I have a 1993 Century that is constantly draining the battery. After doing circuit testing, found out that whenever the front door handles are opened the circuit is switched ON and does not shut off. Even after removing the courtesy lamp the same problem persists. Can someone help me fixing this myself.
Thank you. Nader

Hey, when you say the handles are open, do you mean the door is open or what. I think you mean when they are lifted as i have also seen. I am having similar problem also draining the battery but am not sure if this is causing it. Had my car checked for a short and nothing was found. if you find anything else, pass it along as i shall. Ray

UPDATE Pull the powerlocks fuse to temporary
stop the battery drain

Just lifting the door handle will activate the circuit. the only way to switch it off is by disconnecting the battery cable. I couldn't find powerlocks fuses. I disconnected the cables from inside the doors untill finding a solution. Please keep me updated. P.S. All this happened after the car was stolen and the door lock was broken.
