This race took place in the past. I now own a 00 Z28, but of course I enjoyed my time with my Cobra previously. The mods on the Cobra are 3.73 gears, K&N filter, B&M short throw shifter, and a traction bar. I don't know what the GT owner had on the car besides an exhaust, but i'm fairly sure of gears. Anyways on to the race:
I was at the illegal races on Glenoaks Blvd. (I'm sure some of the California racers know of this spot, and how much COPS just love this area during the time of their quota). My buddies wife wanted to see me race his 98 Z28 (It had quite a few mods, and I don't wanna go through the laundry list). I race him and get smoked by atleast 2 car lengths (I'm being optimistic it was that bad :( ). I get out of my car and a tall asian guy comes up to me and says " Man you lost, your car is suppose to be faster!!!! What happened!!!!" He basically said it in a condescending and loud way, so as to get everyone's attention (Please don't ask me why I run into all the shit talkers, cause I have no idea). I replied by saying "Well get your fucking car out, and we will see what's up". He told me he didn't bring his car, but that his friend would smoke me. His buddy just got back from racing an 80's model GT I believe. He agrees to race me, and doesn't appear to be a shit talker. We line up near the stager. Some guy at the line made a funny comment by saying "It's the last of the good looking mustangs versus the ugly ones". I brought my rpms up to about 2800-3000 rpms. The stager signals us and we are off. I get a little bit of wheelspin, but he isn't that far ahead (Maybe a about a bumper or a little more). I keep the rpms up to 6400 rpms, and shift to 2nd. We are tied throughout most of the power band, with me coming up slightly ahead. Finally the grab for third and I start to just pull away from him. I put a good 2 car lengths by the top of third, and shifted into 4th (My speedo was off cause I was too cheap to pay for the chip to correct the speedometer). By that time it was already over, so I just tried to figure out how to flash my hazards, unfortunately to no avail. I pull back in and greet the shit talking friend by saying "Well I guess your buddy's car isn't faster then mine". He says "Well it's a conv't.". Some people should learn to keep their mouths shut, cause making excuses for losing just makes you look even worse, let alone when it is for somebody else's car.

lol I love people like that.. I raced this guy in a 97 mustang and beat him by multiple bus lengths, then he went on if I still had my 2001-02? firebird I would've smoke you bad.

Ooops I forgot to list the magnaflow muffler I had on the car. In any event I think this guy was a butthole. I'll try to post some more races that I have had.
