93 Ciera with a V6 just dies, it's very random. It may run for 20 minutes or an hour with no problem one day and the next it won't stay running for 5 minutes. We took it to a professional mech and he replaced the o2 sensor and the alternator and said that would fix it, of course it didn't. I replaced the fuel filter and that didn't help either. When it dies it's sputters a little then nothing, seems like it's just loosing fire to me. The plugs and wires look good and when it's running, it seems to be running great, it's not missing and idles very smoothly. I don't know what else to look for. I've been told there are some sensors on the Cutlasses that are bad about cracking and they'll run till they get warm, then the cracks expand and the car dies. I don't really know what i'm looking for and definately can't afford to take it back to a mech and spend 4 or 500 bucks for them to do nothing. Any ideas on what i should/could look at?

Thanks much
Kevin :)

Try changing the Crankshaft positioning sensor. I had the same exact problem on an '88. Fixed the problem.
