I want to improve the porformence and the HP or my truck, heres what i want to start with:
GMS High-Flow Mass Air Sensor
K&N Generation II Air Intake Kit
Flowmaster American Thunder Dual Exhaust
Jet Stage 2 Power Module

any suggestions? any problems I might run into? anything at all?

My Truck:
2001 GMC Sierra 5.3L 4x4 Z71

hey sounds like your headed in the right direction for the bolt-on stuff. one thing you might want to consider instead of the stage 2 chip is a HYPERTECH power programmer, it gives you a lot more program versatility and you don't have to be smart to operate it...it just takes you through a series of yes/no questions...you can adjust the computer for different power levels, gear ratios, tire sizes, shift points...they work great. go to their website and check it out, cheapest place to buy is probably summit racing. other than that, from what i've heard aftermarket headers don't help very much unless you do major internal engine mods.

I have a 2002 sierra 5.3. I have installed a gms mass airflow sensor, a volant cool air intake with the optional ram air tube, and a Gipson stainless cat back exhaust. All can be found at stylinconcepts.com
