1994 Jetta acceleration hesitation - Bogging Down Gregerusa 12-23-2003, 02:29 AM
Please Help, My 1994 Jetta is occassionally bogging down when first hitting the accelerator. This happens when the car is first started (warm or cold). When I hit the gas the car only hits about 1800rpm and bogs down for a second while the check enging lite flashes. If I lay on the gas it will push through and rev up high like it should. Sometimes it takes 20-40 seconds to go away. My quick fix has been to rev the car up really high a couple of times and that normally fixes it. Then I can drive as I please. Any ideas? Thanks, Greg gregerusa@yahoo.com 1 PRODIGY 12-23-2003, 06:16 PM um thas a lil odd. .. can u state more info about the car, miles, transmission, engine type etc Gregerusa 12-25-2003, 02:06 AM 94 MK3 2 liter Manual Transmission 126,000 miles I just bought the car and know little about the car. Mine bogs down in all gears (about 2500rpm's) cold or hot. If I keep my foot on the gas it doesnt work itself through. Did you get it fixed? What was the solution? Please help... boschmann 03-09-2004, 03:57 PM You should check your engine codes first. You can find the proceedure in my post on the thread "VR6 engine turns but won't start" in this forum.
