Hello,

First time post.

I'm going to do a front brake job on my son-in-law's Durango.
First time to work on a Dodge, Done plenty of brake jobs on
Ford and Chevy. The rotors definetly need to be replaced.
Is there anything I need to look out for or anything tricky about
these Durango brakes?

Thanks for responding.

WHen removing the calipers, give the pins a little shot of wd40 or pbblaster where they screw into the knuckle....

Tale says that these threads are very easily pulled/stripped when reinstalling, so watch out!

My 92 Dak had this issue and a helicoil was needed.....I have read that this problem still exists some 10 years later.....same design...go figure...

DZ,

Thanks for the heads up on lubing the threads on
the pins. Things like that is what causes an one
job to turn into an all day job.

Thanks again

John

One other thing...On the older ones, the bolts/pins have hex heads...I thought I read somewhere that the new ones have Torx or allen heads....

Wish I knew for sure...sorry...
