Okay I want to buy a late eighties Mazda RX-7 turbo. Now most of the RX7s on Ebay have a lot of miles on them. I heard that a rotary engine must be replaced every 100000 miles. Is this true? How much would a replacement cost? Is there anything I should look out for when purchasing an old RX-7? :feedback: Thanks!

The TII motor will run to 150,000 if properly cared for. Look out for, overheating, hard starting, and electrics!

Make sure you properly let it warm up and cool down. Look for sweet smelling smoke, burning excessive amounts of oil, overheating is a big issue. My n/a went to 180k before it pooped out and the o-ring finally gave out. Good luck on finding your car.
