95 chevy low rough idle mcharward 12-15-2003, 11:21 AM
my 95 chevy 350 just about dies at low speeds. (parking lots, stop lights) i put it in park and have no probelms. a constant problem for about a year and a half. I have done: a new fuel pump, several tune ups, cleaned the throttle body repeatedly, every type of injector cleaner, hooked it up to the snap on diag machine and no codes can up. HELP i am starting to worry chevy is not the right truck for me. GMMerlin 12-15-2003, 03:38 PM Quite possibly you have a weak pick-up coil or cracked mainshaft magnet in the distributor or an IAC valve that sticks. mcharward 12-16-2003, 01:58 PM Quite possibly you have a weak pick-up coil or cracked mainshaft magnet in the distributor or an IAC valve that sticks. I did put a new coil in it this last summer, no change. i did not mention that i failed my emmisions miserably. i have long suspected my distributer. what do i do next? thanks GMMerlin 12-18-2003, 12:23 PM Did you install a new ignition coil or a pick-up coil? The pick-up coil is located inside the distributor...a faulty pick-up and mainshaft magnet will cause the problems you are having. Remove the distributor and inspect it closely.
