i was wondering if anyone has heard of an automatic with a clutch i have herd of it once or twice but i dont know were to get one i would like to put one in my 70 nova because i have 2 much horse for an automatic and dont want to put in a stall and i dont want a manual either

There was a company that used to build and sell Clutch-Turbos. It's usually a turbo 400, that's had the converter "housing" cut off and a manual tran's bellhousing mounted in it's place. They would replace the input shaft so you could install a clutch on it. It worked just like a standard set-up, just that once you engage the clutch, you leave it alone and shift your trans like its an automatic. It's not very street friendly, and there are auto trans set-ups that'll do just as well (trans-brake) in the quarter mile. That's why you hardly see anyone using a Clutch Turbo. It's more of a "novelty" item in this day and age. Try going to google.com and doing a search on "Clutch Turbo". Have Fun :).
