1992 Caravan LE door ajar warning boingbittersweet 12-17-2001, 05:17 PM One of our doors on our 1992 Dodge Caravan LE does not shut tightly so a warning light and boing-noise occurs. Is there a fuse we can disconnect so that we don't hear the noise, since at this time money for repair is non-existant. Once you get the lowest price, then have a mechanic fix it.:o cgin59 09-23-2002, 04:35 PM I had a Toyota Camry that did the same thing. I fixed it by super-gluing a nylon nut to the switch end....which made the switch button longer. Still works!! yale329 11-15-2003, 01:28 PM If its your front doors, try adjusting the big latch on your frame. It can be loosened with a star wrench, or a large pair of vise grips. Don't take it off just loosen it. Its ajustable to some extent. The switch should be replaced if the above does not help. fubufolks 12-06-2003, 10:02 PM Another option is to unscrew the sensor (in the door jamb) and disconnect the wire. You won't miss it, especially if it's the passenger door. For $12 you can even get a new sensor and DIY. Anaudiophile 12-10-2003, 12:12 AM If the door ajar light and bong are being set off by the sliding door, there is an easy fix for it! Find the door ajar switch located at the rear of the sliding door on the body. Pry it out with a flat screwdriver. Then, while holding the round housing, try to push the connector end through the round housing. It should ratchet out to make it stick out farther. Then, reinstall the switch and close the sliding door gently to reset the switch to the proper length!! vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
