Braking in snow noiserejs 12-08-2003, 07:59 PM Yesterday, towards the end of our northeast blizzard, I took my car out to see how it would be in snow. I found that when I braked with moderate pressure the LowTrac light came on and I had a steady clicking noise that sounds like it is coming from the driver side front. When I let off the brake the light went out and away when the noise. When i put the brakes on lightly everything is fine. This noise does not occur on clear roads no matter how hard I brake. Any suggestions as to the cause/problem? I know it's not the chirping sound you get when pads need replacing. Ripn12s 12-08-2003, 08:41 PM ABS ?? kicking in?? I know when braking in slushy conditions it was very easy for my car to ABS on me. rejs 12-08-2003, 09:12 PM I assume the ABS system was kicking in, but I wouldn't think you would hear a clicking noise when it does. kilroypr 12-10-2003, 10:03 PM Hey, when the ABS kicks in depending on the sorounding noise you can actually hear them. I have never driven on the snow but under extreme wet roads and when pressing hard sometimes I can hear the clicking sound of the ABS kicking in. So that is normal rejs 12-11-2003, 06:59 AM Thanks for verifying - that's what the dealer where I bought the car says. I just don't trust car dealers very much :) kilroypr 12-14-2003, 09:57 AM Welcome vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
