Horn Help... it has a mind of its own!pliofilm 12-08-2003, 02:37 PM After I recovered my 'almost' stolen car a block away from my house, I realized why the thieves left it behind... the horn now honks when the steering wheel is turned in either direction... very embarassing, not to mention attention-getting. They broke the column base to start the car, and there are also lots of clicking noises when I turn the wheel. I removed the horn fuse, and on the advice of my brother, I removed the center of the wheel to disable the metal sheets from engaging. But it is still honking! Any ideas before I spend $350 at the shop? (Last time my car was 'almost' stolen, that's how much it cost. Thanks to any help!! Diane pliofilm 12-08-2003, 02:54 PM By the way, it is a 1987 Cutless Ciera... a car I love and love to drive... Diane 89calais 12-09-2003, 10:15 AM Should have called the police and had them finger print it , find the culprits and charge them for damage caused. pliofilm 12-09-2003, 11:25 PM Thanks for the stellar advice, but instead I simply disconneted additinal fuses under the hood. 89calais 12-09-2003, 11:37 PM Wasn't trying to be a smart ass about it but pulling additional fuses doesn't replace the broken parts and the damage and time consumption caused by the fiendish bastards who tore it up. I've had people try to steal my Dodge Stealth and all I got out of it was the same advice yet from my insurance company -_-;. Anyways , Still , It's better to have the police involved this way , with a whim of a hope , They can get fingerprints and find the culprits and you go to court once , get some sort of resotution and all is well. Only thing it costed in the end was time but , then again time is money so who knows @_@...sleepy.... vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
