Should be a direct swap. I have never done it but usually automakers make the engine compartments and mounts the same to support the different engines they put in the vehicles. So I would say it's a direct swap.

Hope this helps

Actually, it's more work than you think. You will need new motor mounts welded to the frame as they are different from the 4 cyl. ones. You cannot use the AX5 tranny without an adapter for the 6 cylinder, your best bet would be to locate the entire engine, tranny, xfer case together. Next, the drive shafts lengths are different, you need the ones ( front & rear ) for the six banger or have yours modified. The exhaust from the cat back will work, but obviously an new header pipe will be needed. Plan on a bigger radiator to keep the bigger engine cool and don't forget the small stuff like sensors, harness connectors and the like. My advice, before going thru all that I'd either sell my jeep & buy one with a 6 already in it or better yet, drop a chevy 350 or amc 304 V8 with adapters from www.advanceadapters.com or www.novak-adapt.com Good luck!
