B18B1 into 96 EK96EKB16BCoupe 12-03-2003, 05:26 PM My brother wants to do a JDM B18B1 (NO-V-TEC) swap into his EK Civic, and I told him i would see how much a B18B1 costs, and where do get one. Can Ya'll Help me? Thepeug 12-03-2003, 09:19 PM You can get a complete '99 b18b1 swap for $2800 from inlinefour.com. Also check out hmotorsonline.com. It's a bit cheaper, but most of its motors are also older. eckoman_pdx 12-07-2003, 06:43 AM The B18B1 was a USDM Integra motor, not a JDM motor. There wasn't a JDM B18B1. And if you search around, you should be able to ge the B18B1 swap (parts) for less than $2800. I know paid less than that for my LS. But make sure it's a reputabgle source. If you have to pay a little more to get it through a reputable source, do it. It's a USDM motor though, so hit up the major Honda Salvage yards, and yo can beat that price. 96EKB16BCoupe 12-07-2003, 07:27 AM was there ever a non-vtec DOHC jdm honda motor? because i do not like VTEC for road racing Thepeug 12-07-2003, 09:36 AM Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the ZC is DOHC non-VTEC. Unfortunately, it's really old, but it's also dirt-cheap. eckoman_pdx 12-07-2003, 07:10 PM Yea, there was a Non-Vtec DOHN ZC motor. It was JDM, there was never a USDM ZC. It had 129HP@6800 & 106lb/ft@5700. It was 1595cc. I have seen listed a SOHN Vtec ZC, but I believe that was 1590cc I only saw it in a few sources though. The Non-Vtec ZC was 1595cc (1.6). It had a 9.6:1 c/r. To the guy wanting the swap...It's not even legel tp put into your car, the last ZC to ever come in a car was 93 JDM Teg. Cable tranny, machincal speedo. I don't see why you guy want a "JDM Non-Vtec Motor." Dude, if you want non-vtec, forget JDM. Get the USDM B18B1 (94+ Teg). 142hp@6300rpm & 127 Lb/ft@5200. It is 1.8 liters (1834cc). That's the non-vtec motor I would choose if I swapped (which I did choose). You don't need to "go JDM" on the swap. YOu want my adive for your situation, forget JDM. You want non-Vtec, get the USDM B18B1 from a 94+ non-GSR (and non-type-r) Integra. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
