What make Starter Kit for Century 2000 is best?

Please advice what make/type Starter Kit would best suit the Century 2000 Buick?
What is the price range of the above? What I have to expect to pay for decent one?
For short daily trips in the winter, would you reccomend a Synthetic oil, or oil additives? Are additives really beneficial to the engine, or is it just a yet another money grabbing gimmick?
If the additive is any good, should I pour it into engine (as reccomended on the label) or every oil change?
