I always think since I have no money to make the best of what I have.
So I was wondering what performance mods any of you have done. All I will be able to afford soon is thicker plug wires and a k&n filter.

Thicker plug wires will not do anything for performance by themselves. The stock ones are just fine until major work is done. On my 2003 Rio I had a cold air intake, pulling air from the bumper on the left side. I also had a 4-2-1 header, 2.25" pipe, glass pack (as a resonator) and flowmaster 40 series muffler. I also had the exhaust cam retarded 1 tooth and Kia Sephia 17lb injectors. I also had bigger wires however that is because it was cheaper than buying OEM wires. I had accidently damaged my stock ones.

At least intake, maybe a nice muffler, and clean it up you know hubcaps and stuff, cheap but nice are the key words

it does make a difference and they clean up nicely, there are a few forums outside of here that do have pics of nice Rios and other kias all together, there are a few aftermarket sites as well.
