Problems with their Sequoia anyone!?!Rican03 11-25-2003, 05:08 PM I have a 03 silver 2WD SR5 with Enkei wheel option, Spoiler, Lighted running boards, etc. Only the truck doesn't have is a sunroof and leather seats, but other than that it has it all. We bought the truck in June and barelly have 4500 miles on it, when we had the truck for about a month we started hearing a whistle/humming noise from the rear of the truck that starts about 25-30 and goes away above 40 mph. We have taking it to the dealer several times, one service Rep heard it as we test drove it and the other service guy test drove it with the mechanic after inspecting the rear end and said they couldn't hear a thing. I took it out for a spin with the first Rep and sure enough it was there. It is hard to discribe the noise (which is not tire humm or road humm) but the closest thing to it would be when you blow air over the open end of a coke bottle. No one supposelly can hear it except my wife and I and the service Rep, does anyone have any ideas of what it could be or does anyone have this problem?? It is driving me insane specially driving around the city. HELP!! kodmcc 01-28-2004, 04:58 PM I've got a 2002 4wd sr5 that does the same thing. Sounds like someone blowing in a bottle. Told it was "normal" but doubt it. Any luck with yours? Big blue truck 01-29-2004, 02:22 AM I have seen a few with the roof rack crossbars to close together creating that noise. Very common in rav4. good luck. kodmcc 01-29-2004, 02:52 PM That was my first thought, too. Didn't make any difference. I think it's a rear-end gear/bearing/differential issue as the noise will sometimes start up when going around an off-ramp or big turn on hi-way. I tried changing differential fluid but it didn't matter. namvet66 02-08-2004, 07:21 PM Just bought 04 sr5, hope I don't have his problem namvet66 vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
