Honestly, sell it & buy a manual car. Then worry about the rest.

There are some helpful Honda/acura performance books to guide you in the right direction. This way you do it right the first time & not waste money on useless shit.

nah my cars not a vtech and alone i have about 2 g's but could probably get my parents to spot me. And i just got the car 2 weeks ago cant really sell my car and get a new one. so yeh.. thx for the help tho i check on those books.

vtech = company that makes kids toys and phones
vtec = Variable Valve blah blah blah..... jackasssi is referring to the spelling. Don't mean to be rude, but this mistake's been made a million times. And for 2 grand, try a SOHC VTEC swap, won't cost as much as a DOHC VTEC.

Depends on the engine you get, where you get it from, condition, extra parts needed, labor involved, lots of things to consider. Check out the FAQ (http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=19176) , kinda long, but well worth the time. This will help you with deciding which engine to go for.

oh yeh and is there anyway to get these motors to pass smog? i mean deng i cant really get a motor swap done cause i eventually im going to have to a smog test on it. Sorry for adding more questions but what upgrades can i do on my car to make it quicker. Like instead of changing the motor.

Turbo!!! Should cost about the same as you swapping engines. Fast turboed SOHC's are sick imo.

Yeah with any engine youll pass the test. A b16a1 engine 160 hp VTEC engine 8000 redline will cost you around 3000 bucks, all parts...probably labor

VTEC on SOHC engines do little more than make make extra noise past 5k rpm, or wherever it kicks in at. I still say, save your money, build the block up a little, forged pistons, rods and sleeves. Then save up about another 3k and do a custom turbo kit and have it tuned. I can even give you my shopping list for what I was going to run before my car was totaled. And definetely swap it to manual if you're going to keep the car. I'd say it should probably cost you around 5-6k total and you'd have one hell of a car.

Instead of buying stupid shit for you car, start with a factory repair manual & some Honda/Acura performance books. Then invest the $$$$ after you have a plan.
