Del Sol WON'T STARTmrchris1979 11-24-2003, 02:23 AM I have a 1993 Del Sol 1.5 with manual tranny. The car was parked on idle and it just shut off. I tried to start it again but no go. Starter turns fine and the car has plenty power to turn the engine, but it does not fire all the way. All I've done is get new spark plugs but no go. Any opinions ? Shabash 11-24-2003, 10:03 AM Looks like a timing belt went out. mycivic 11-24-2003, 10:13 AM check oil. maybe battery. or alternator. or i think its what they call the distributor. 94SolGrl 11-24-2003, 04:06 PM check gas tank, too.... you'd be surprised. The alternator (aka distributor) is gonna be right up at the top of the block, next to the valve cover on the left. Easy to pick out. Also, check your whole block for damage. If you blew your timing belt, then you're probably gonna have some holes in your block, and you need a new block. Swap time! mrchris1979 11-24-2003, 04:49 PM Timing belt is fine, I think it might be the distributor. There is no spark generating to fire the spark plugs.
