My oil change indicator recently came on as normal and after chaning the old I am unable to get it to reset. I've done this many times before with no problems. I even tried disconecting the battery for a while to see if it would reset some sensor or computer. still will not reset.

Any ever run into this? How did you fix it?

I've run into a problem with dirty contacts in the reset switch.

if it doesn't reset with the press, release, then press and hold you may have a bad switch.

Here is your remedy, trust me it works.
1) Turn the ignition key to the "on" position" without actually statrting the car.

2) Pump the gas pedal at a steady pace all the way to the floor, 3 times. Don't pump it, 3 pumps in 5 secs, is a good beat.
3) Turn key off; then on; the light should go out.

:eek7: While holding the reset swutch in your fuse panel turn the ignition on and off the switch might be frozen. Then try the reset again[B]

In ref to mote01 idea of turning off the change oil light, That S#$T worked. As soon as I read the post, I went to the garage and gave it a try. The first attempt didnt work, but the second try was magic. Hopefully I can get more solutions on this site.
