Hello everyone

I'm not sure if my ECU ('91 Eclipse GS 2.0L non-turbo) is toast but I took it out and opened the box....There's a black area (look at the photos below) which seems "burned" or damaged and the rest of the ECU brain looks fine.....

BTW, my car is crancking fine but it will not start (no spark, fuel okay) so that's the reason I suspect the ECU might have gone bad. I have no idea what might have caused the ECU to burn some leads. Anyone??

Any comments will be appreciated....Any way to test this ECU??

Some poeple can repair ECUs, but they are often only found in local DSM groups, etc. Its usually easier just to get a used one from a junkyard. There is a company that repairs and sells used DSM ecus, but I cant remember the name... Check out the "electrical" section at www.vfaq.com, and search the typical DSM sites (dsmtuners and dsmtalk) to see if you can find it.
