jiffy lube would not change my auto trans fluid because i didnt know if it was changed at 50k. i bought the vehicle used with 80k and wanted to change filter and fluid but they refused to change fluid, they did say they would save and re use the old fluid and change the filter if i wanted it that way!! the reason was new fluid would cause leaks and possible shifting problems on the older trans. anyone ever hear of such a thing? sort of like putting on dirty clothes after a shower if you ask me. i checked on the offer, figure ill do it myself if there aint no truth to this thing. anyone hear of this causing a problem?? 93 blazer s10. thanks

Changing the fluid and filter should not hurt anything...I would not recommend doing a transmission flush on a vehicle that old.

Are you having any transmission problems or do you just want to do some maintenance?

trans. seems to shift slow, in morning or when cold wants to hold the gears long. a lot of roaring under hood, sounds like a lot of rpm's and will not shift to second right away. i figured something may be getting sticky in valve body and clean fluid may help. im shooting in blind here, i am no master mechanic by any means and i can't type either. any input will help a lot. thanks

If you are having trans problems, best bet is to have the trans looked at...
