Engine squeak?cj99 11-19-2003, 02:33 PM I have a squeak in my engine when its running on humid and cool days. Good weather no squeak. Sounds like a pulley. changed the tensioner pulley with no luck. Any suggestions. EVH5150 11-19-2003, 08:13 PM I have the same problem you describe. I think those damn self-tensioning pulleys are pieces of crap. Sorry the only thing I can come up with is to throw a new belt on. Sorry I couldn't be of more help. I know that squeak can drive a person mad! :banghead: charles1110 11-20-2003, 08:22 AM I have the same problem. I own a 2000 Grand Caravan 3.8L. Bought it last September used with 52500km. Took it in for the first scheduled service maintenance and told the service manager about the problem. he said that they would check it out.The belt would screech at start-up when the engine is cold, but would stop when the engine warms up.When i got the vehicle back the report stated that the noise is normal "due to air moisture".This is the first time i have ever heard such crap. I have owned Japanese made vehicles before and never had this complaint. :disappoin cj99 12-30-2003, 08:41 AM I put on a new premium dayco belt and the squeak is gone.
