Intake/Exhaust Sound?m1st3rfoo 11-18-2003, 11:39 PM What is the difference in sound between a short-ram intake and a cold-air intake? Also, will it be weird sounding if I do get an intake but keep my stock exhaust, or maybe just get muffler or just tips? I'm not going for performance as much as sound - just need an easy way to get that thoaty sound. kicker1_solo 11-19-2003, 01:59 AM If you're going for a throaty sound get a short ram intake. That is the best sound you'll ever hear, especially during hard acceleration at high RPMs. A cold air intake won't give you much sound, a little more than stock, but nothing to brag about. Short ram is the only way to go. The sound will be the same if you have an aftermarket or stock exhaust. You'll hear it more if you have a stock exhaust since it won't be competing over the aftermarket exhaust. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
