Hey, I'm looking at getting some new rims for my 03 Civic HX and was wondering what size you guys recommend (height and width)... would 18 x 7.5 be too big or perfect??

That's HUGE! If you put them on your HX your car is going to move like a snail. Most of us recommend 15s or 16s. 15x6.5" with 205/50x15" or 16x7" 205/45x16".

lol, I know they're big but I don't really care about going all that fast, but 18's look great on imports, maybe i'll just get thinner rims....

maybe 17 x 7 lightweight racing rims w/ low profiles

The sidewall will be so thin with 18's your car will ride like shit no matter what suspension set-up you have. If you do go 18's, upgrading the brakes & suspension would be a wise idea. The biggest I'd go with on a civic is 17's - prefer 13"-16".

low profile 15's (16's at the most) would be ideal for civics.

17's can be pulled off if you can lower the car enough to a minor tuck.

heres a website that may help. it compares the stock wheels/tire to the one you want.

I personally don't think 15's look right on a civic, I put my integra's wheels on my civic and they just look to beefy, made it look like a 4x4 cuz there was to much tire showing. I'd say 16's man, maybe 17's with rubber bands for wheels. also wHat ArE yUO tAlKiNg LIke tHis fOr?

You'll realize as you get older than low profile sucks for your back :)

If the O.E. (original equipment) size is 185/65-14, you shouldn't go more than a "plus three" 17"x7 due to clearance problems. If you're looking for the best combination of looks, handling, braking and performance, I would stick with 17x7's matched with 205/40-17 tires.

Choosing the size is the easy part, wait till you start checking out the syles! Tire Rack has a cool deal where they silhouette your car and you match what the different rims would look like on your vehicle.
